What makes champions champions?
"Everyone has the desire to win, but only champions have the desire to
prepare." --Overheard during the 1997 Boston Marathon

Inspiration
Pre also said : A lot of people run a race to see who's the fastest. I run to see who has the most guts.
The cutting on the left has been in my wallet since 24/2/1999. It had really inspired me to run. I watched the movie on HBO and I cut it out from the SCV programme after it. "to give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the GIFT" I didn't quite know what it meant. Especially the GIFT part. All I knew was that Pre meant he gave his best all the time. My mummy said the GIFT is talent. If I had knew it was talent then, I would have been so discouraged as I didn't have it, so what was there to give if I didn't have the gift? But nevermind that, it still serves as a source of inspiration. I get ideas just looking at it.
The problem with real life stories is that they're never as nice as fake ones. But we are real anyway so it doesn't matter.

Excessive Perspiration

That is the Driclor solution on the right. It's used to treat excessive perspiration. I used it before and I still have the bottle but I don't use it anymore as I spotted something like: keep under 20 degrees celsius.on the bottle. And I realised it was left in the sun for dunno how many years already. It worked well for my sweaty palms. Though they do leave a really smooth feeling on the skin. I tried it on my nose, another really sweaty spot. But it didn't worked the way I wanted it too. My nose turned red and the skin started peeling. I think my nose's skin's too sensitive.
The story of my perspiration started when I was quite young. I've always been the nervous sort. I'm a very quiet person and some how when I was is Primary school, I often got the GOOD CONDUCT award. And walking up the stage to shake hands with the principal definately made me sweat buckets. Wiping my hands on my skirt didn't help, it only made me wet as my hands seem to have a neverending supply of water. Till now, I'm still scared of shaking hands with people. Coz I'm so embarrassed of my sweaty palms.
When I started running, I read a lot of books on it. And it seems that experience and GOOD runners sweat easily to get rid of the heat. Right, so I thought I was one. HAHA. ok i know. But even the normal good athlete doesn't sweat half as much as me. I scare the wits out of people. I remember cycling on a stationary bike and this group of students walked pass and started giggling and yuking about me. I know it was bad, the whole floor was wet. I hate wasting water! And because I lose so much, i drink so much also and it's not very convenient. I used to bring 3 500ml bottles to school and yet I still have to borrow water from my fellow teammates who can't even finish 500ml of water. I get thirsty easily when I run. But a good thing is that I THINK that my stomach is good at digesting water. It has to be.
I can go on forever just talking about sweating. BUt people may not be interested so I think I'd stop here. If you want to know more, just let me know.
