What is Success?
Success is a drug, and a bad drug at that. You crave for it and when you get it, you briefly enjoy your high
before greedily wanting more. Apart from that moment, you're never content with what you've got and crave
for another buzz.

for headlamps. I've always like the idea of a lone runner in the night. Singapore is very bright with all the streetlamps so I don't think i'd need one. But wouldn't it be cool when you look out of the window and see someone wearing a headlamp go pass? IF you do it in SIngapore, Im sure you'd be the first one and the newspapers will come after you to interview the smart one. The earliest I ever ran is at 5am. My friends all thought I was crazy. I guess I am. Just check out the headlamps.
  Flat feet or Fallen Arches
The doctor said I wasn't flat footed. He just asked me to stand up. But it was only a few weeks later that I realised when I walk, my arches lower a lot alot. If that wasn't fallen arches then what is it. I don't have a normal arch, it's lower than normal.
If you've got fallen arches too, here are some arch strengthening workouts:
1. point your feet and curl your toes then turn the feet inwards, trying to have the soles of the feet face each other (this scrunches--a technical term--the arch and strengthens those muscles and also strengthens the muscles going up the top of the arch towards the inside of the shin.) Hold for 30 seconds.
2. do toe raises on a step.
3. stand on a step with the toes dangling and curl them down.
4. remember to stretch your calves
it's up to you how much to do. you can also walk tiptoe around. Some people say it helps.

Upper body workouts
You know distance runners are all so skinny. And I know myself how muscular my lower body is while the upper body is ignored. I've got very narrow shoulders. It's really awful. Maybe I should work on that. I'd like broad shoulders. =)

To get strong dorsiflexors
This is my favourite injury prevention page. And I mean it by favourite. I read it over and over again and yet I still can read it again. It's that nice to read. I like the way dorsiflexors sound. Plantarflex and Evertors don't sound as nice. Are you a noisy runner? Do you go plat plat plat when you run? I do. I'm not fat but I'm sure noisy. Check out this site on how to strengthen dorsiflexors and prevent shinsplints.

I got this off the Lake District site. It's lovely isn't it? Look at the grass! I've taken a liking to grass running since my stress fracture. Singapore is all concrete and the only grassy areas is the football field. Which I guarantee you is the most boring place to run. My dream is to go there and run. Go the lake district. =)
